Knowledge:

Scoliosis means that one or more segments of the spine bend laterally away from the body midline in the coronal plane. The formation of a spinal deformity with radians is usually accompanied by rotation of the spine in the transverse plane and an increase or decrease in kyphosis or lordosis of the sagittal plane. It can be caused by a variety of causes. According to the etiology classification: idiopathic scoliosis and non-idiopathic scoliosis, according to the classification of the scoliosis research society, non-idiopathic scoliosis can be divided into the following categories:

1. Congenital scoliosis: It is caused by abnormal development of the spinal embryo. It occurs early. Most of it is found in infancy. The pathogenesis is abnormal spinal structure and spinal imbalance. Spinal deformity can be divided into three types: spinal formation disorders, such as hemivertebrae; poor spinal segmentation, such as unilateral segmentation to form a bone bridge; mixed type.

2. Neuromyogenic scoliosis: It can be divided into two types, neurogenic and myogenic. The former includes cerebral palsy with upper motor neuron disease, polio with spinal cavity and lower motor neuron disease. The latter include muscular dystrophy and myelopathy atrophy. The pathogenesis is due to the nervous system and muscles losing control of spinal trunk balance.

3. Neurofibromatosis is associated with scoliosis. Neurofibromatosis is an autosomal hereditary disease caused by a single genetic lesion.
